A teacher affects eternity; he / she can never tell where the influence stops.

– Henry B. Adams

Let that sink in for a moment. Think about your favourite teacher growing up (if you had one) and consider how their influence may still be visible in your life. A teacher can make a difference and we know that, which is why we have UpliftED.

UpliftED is a Teacher Training Programme partnering into low income communities to empower both teachers and principals of “back yard” crèches. Every teacher matters. We believe that changing a nation means first empowering women and children with education!

What does UpliftED do?

Our UpliftED team gives these women (both teachers & principals), the necessary practical and theoretical training to develop their skills and thus enable them to offer a better, more solid foundation in education in their preschools.

Did you know?

UpliftED reaches over 4 000 beneficiaries every year, giving them a greater chance at success in formal schooling. We currently train in Olivenhoutbosch, Midrand and Rural KZN, Bergville, empowering over 300 women to become great teachers / principals.

How do I get involved?

We have both corporate and individual partners of UpliftED who support our work through monthly giving, Enterprise and Skills Development funding and equipment sponsorships.

There are a few ways that you can partner with us:

  • Check out our wishlist and help us out by donating our most needed items.
  • Become an UpliftED sponsor and support the work we do into these communities (CSI/BEE points apply).
  • Volunteer with us! Those with teaching and adult-training experience are most welcome to join our team!
